Our Story

Camellia Grove Nursery opened in 1939 in what was then the remote Sydney suburb of St Ives. …

It was established by the late Professor E.G. Waterhouse, who won international recognition for his research with camellias.
Over the six decades the nursery was at St Ives, it earned a fine reputation not only for its quality plants, but as a tourist destination for people from all over the world.
At the end of 2004, the nursery moved to its present location at Glenorie in Sydney’s north-west.
The Campbell family is now in its 3rd generation of running the nursery. For over 50 years the family has been at the heart of nursery operations. We take the utmost pride in what we do and hope that you can enjoy everything Camellia Grove Nursery has to offer.
